The COVID-19 outbreak has affected all segments of the Malaysian population and has been particularly detrimental to the vulnerable segments of the society. In 2021, Malaysia had seen the worst of the raging pandemic. It has not been an easy transition. While communities strived to get on with life with new norms, the after-effects of the worldwide outbreak continue to affect communities, especially those living in poverty situations, older persons, persons with disabilities, youth, and indigenous peoples.

MERCY Humanitarian UK (MHUK) did a donation appeal to all Malaysians living in the UK to show their solidarity and support for our frontliners in Malaysia. 

The fund raised was used to purchase medical supplies, with more patients being admitted, there was an urgent need for oxygen tanks and covid assessment centers are also in need of equipment.  From the donation Hospital Sarikei managed to purchase 15 units of trasfusion stand (mobile),  and vital signs monitor. 

The fund raised was also used to purchase care packages for the frontliners. 

With soaring cases and long hours, these packages of food and care products will support the frontliners during their shifts. 

The donation was distributed to the following hospitals. They served as Covid centers and was being prioritised by Kementerian Kesihation Malaysia (KKM):

Hospital Sg Buloh, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Selayang, Hospital Sarikei, Hospital Lawas and a  few other hospitals.

Together we are lending as much support as possible so that our Malaysian heroes can carry out their noble and important tasks. Thank you to everyone who donated.
