Who we are

MERCY Humanitarian UK (MHUK) is a fully registered non-profit organisation in the UK. In July 2022, we relaunched as MHUK to reflect our focus on humanitrian aid and to reintroduce ourselves to a new audience. To help us achieve this, we work with established UK charities, societies, government agencies, student bodies and local community groups. Our projects include charity collaborations, event partnerships, participation at public gatherings, awareness and fundraising campaigns as well as providing health talks to various support groups.

To be outstanding in delivery of humanitarian aid to all.

There are a total of 10 MHUK trustees, 6 based in the UK and 4 in Malaysia. The management of MHUK consists of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer.

MERCY MALAYSIA HISTORY

A Malaysian obstetrician-gynaecologist, Dr Jemilah Mahmood was moved by the plight of countless innocent civilians, especially women and children during the Kosovo Warin 1999.
Finding no national organisation ready to support such international crisis, she sought to offer her services voluntarily.
It was when the Malaysian Medical Relief Society – known today as MERCY Malaysia – was established.
Its aimed to provide a platform for Malaysians to unite and take their roles in the international humanitarian arena.

MERCY MALAYSIA UK HISTORY

In 2014, MERCY Malaysia started its UK chapter, MERCY Malaysia UK (MMUK) to further extend its mission in delivering medical and humanitarian assistance within the UK and internationally. We are now known as MERCY Humanitarian UK (MHUK) to emphasise our focus on providing humanitarian assistance to communities in crisis in the UK and internationally.
