King confers Bintang Ahli Mangku Negara to NST, TV3 journos in London

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah conferred medals to two Media Prima Bhd journalists during an investiture ceremony at the Malaysian High Commission at Belgrave Square, London yesterday (Aug 10).

The king awarded the Bintang Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) to the New Straits Times journalist Zaharah Othman and TV3 correspondent in London, Haliza Hashim.

The AMN were awarded in conjunction with Agong’s birthday.

During the same ceremony held at 10am (local time), Al-Sultan Abdullah conferred the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), which carries the title ‘Datuk’ to Syarikat Pelaburan Harta Komersial director Datuk Ajay Soni. The DSAP is a title from Pahang and was given in conjunction with the sultan of Pahang’s birthday.

Also present were Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Datuk Zakri Jaafar and his wife Datin Nor Aini Abdul Rahman.

The king and queen are on a special visit to London until Aug 15.
